Golden Visa Costa Rica ("we," "us," "our") provides residency-by-investment advisory services from Escazú, San José, Costa Rica. This policy explains what personal data we collect through goldenvisacostarica.com (the "Site"), why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways: what you give us directly, what our systems collect automatically, and what we receive from third-party services that support the Site.

1. Information you provide directly

• Consultation requests (booking modal): full name, email address, phone number, and country of residence.
• Blog inquiries (lead forms on articles): full name, email address, and an optional WhatsApp/phone number.
• Property inquiries: full name, email address, and phone number.
• Newsletter sign-up: email address and name, only if you check the opt-in box on a form.
• Direct contact: anything you include when you email or message us directly (e.g. via WhatsApp).

2. Information collected automatically

When you submit a consultation request, we automatically record technical details about your device and session — your approximate IP address (looked up via a third-party API), browser and operating system, device type, screen and viewport size, timezone, language, network connection type, and the page you submitted the form from. We use this solely to understand and respond to genuine inquiries and to help identify spam or fraudulent submissions.

Separately, if you consent to analytics cookies (see our Cookie Policy ), we use Google Analytics to collect aggregated, session-level data: pages viewed, time on page, scroll depth, referral/traffic source, general device and browser type, and which buttons or links you interact with. This helps us understand how the Site is used and where to improve it — it is not used to build a personal profile of you.

3. Information from third parties

If you reach us through a partner, referral, or a platform like WhatsApp, Instagram, or Facebook, we may receive your name and contact details, and public information from your profile, as part of that conversation.

How We Use Your Information

• To respond to your inquiry and schedule or conduct a consultation.
• To provide the residency, investment, and relocation advisory services you request.
• To send you newsletters or investment updates, but only if you opted in — you can unsubscribe at any time.
• To understand aggregated site usage and improve content, navigation, and performance.
• To detect, investigate, and prevent spam, fraud, or misuse of our forms.
• To comply with applicable legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Who We Share It With

We share personal data only with service providers who help us run the Site and our business, under obligations to protect it:

• Supabase — hosts our database (form submissions, blog leads, newsletter list).
• EmailJS — delivers consultation and inquiry form submissions to our team by email.
• Google (Analytics / Tag Manager) — provides aggregated site-usage analytics, subject to the cookie consent described below.
• ipify.org — a lookup service used to record the approximate IP address on consultation submissions.
• Hosting and infrastructure providers who serve the Site.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Golden Visa Costa Rica, our clients, or others. Because several of our service providers operate internationally (including in the United States), your data may be processed outside your home country.

Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies and similar local storage for essential site function (like remembering your language preference), and — only with your consent — for analytics. See our Cookie Policy for the full list of what we use and how to control it. You can change your choice at any time from the "Cookie Preferences" link in the site footer.

Data Retention

We keep consultation and inquiry data for as long as needed to respond to you and, where you become a client, for the duration of our engagement plus the period required by applicable tax and corporate record-keeping law. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Aggregated analytics data is retained per Google Analytics' standard retention settings.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent (including analytics consent) at any time. This applies in particular to residents of the EU/EEA, UK, and Switzerland under GDPR/UK GDPR, and to residents of US states with comprehensive privacy laws.

Children's Privacy

The Site is intended for adults exploring residency and investment options and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.

We use industry-standard safeguards — including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls on our database — to protect the data we hold. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our services, tools, or legal obligations change. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
